The best part of the trip was the networking and the tremendous professionalism and enthusiasm shown by the 350+ vacation rental owners who attended. I talked to owners with properties in Costa Rica, Panama, British Columbia, and just about every US state from Hawaii to Rhode Island. I also met many of the VR professionals we hear about in marketing and advertising – Jonathan Murray from MYVR; the folks from Evolve and Glad To Have You; Joel Rasmussen from the Austin Rental Alliance and Heather Weierman of the California Vacation Rental Managers Alliance. I hope to interview many of these over the next few months so stay tuned! The person I most wanted to meet was Matt Landau from the Vacation Rental Marketing Blog and VR Leap. Matt has been instrumental in helping many owners feel their way through the marketing maze.
