VRS078 – Landing Pages and Lead Generation For Your Vacation Rental Business

I have a big confession to make and it’s a little embarrassing.

We do not have a mailing list…………yes I hear the crickets too.

I don’t mean for Cottage Blogger – that’s different. If you check out the top of our home page you’ll see there is my free book – Staged to Rent (our lead magnet) – and if you click on the image it takes you to a sign-up box ( a Lead Box), which will put your name on our mailing list, and then you’ll get additional content and may be more likely to come back to the site again.

You have probably signed up for many of these free ebooks, white papers, resources and video tutorials. The free content is designed to encourage trust and loyalty.

It’s a tried and trusted formula to help create relationships with visitors to a website, because if you don’t provide real value in exchange for that email address your new subscribers won’t stay around for long.

However, despite years of knowing this, we’ve never collected emails from the thousands of visitors who come to our agency website every week.

In this week’s episode I’ve invited the Marketing Educator from Lead Pages to join me and hopefully help me with my new task of turning CLRM into a lead generating site.

Bob Jenkins, AKA Bob the Teacher, has been training internet marketers for years and he’s also a talented business coach – he coached Mike and I for three months last year. It was great to talk to Bob and to hear his views on how lead generation tactics could work for independent vacation rental owners as well as managers.
